Intro to Patchwork

With Rose Ponizil

$150

Ever wonder what to do with leftover fabric scraps?   Patchwork is an excellent way to put those pieces to use and create a little work of art.

In this beginners workshop you will learn some basic techniques for sewing patchwork like making a "log cabin" block and checkers (the fast and easy way!)

All materials will be provided and each student will have the chance to make their very own, one-of-a-kind, patchwork block. This workshop is perfect for someone who is new to sewing, or someone who has some sewing experience, but who wants a refresher.  More experienced sewists are welcome too!

Our Policies:

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for your workshop. Workshops start on time. If you are more that 15 minutes late for your class, you may forfeit your chance to take the class.

  • You may cancel for a refund up to 21 days before the workshop. After that, workshop fees are not refundable.

  • We reserve the right cancel or reschedule a workshop with fewer than 3 sign ups. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you will receive a refund.

  • Please note that we may take photos during the workshop to use on social media. If you do wish to be photographed, please let the teacher know when you arrive.

  • If you are sick, please stay home. Call or email to let us know that you are not coming.

  • Last minute cancellations are extremely challenging for our guest teachers. Often times, materials have been meticulously prepared ahead of time. Keep in mind that late cancellations are a financial burden on these very special artists.

Rose Ponizil is a Los Angeles based designer and educator with a focus on slow fashion. She spent 10+ years creating custom swimwear and bras and now teaching others how to make their own. Rose believes that sustainability is much more than just the textiles we use, it’s about intentional consumption. This translates to sharing sewing techniques, pdf patterns and education because when you create something from scratch, that fits your body just right, you are less likely to throw it away.
